Choose the Record Custodian
Utah releases and transfers people through several systems, so no single local office can answer every question. Use the agency that created the record. UDC handles state offender records and Adult Probation and Parole, the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole handles hearing and decision orders, and county sheriffs hold their own jail booking and release files.
- For a county-jail release, select the booking or housing county in the County Directory and follow that sheriff's records route.
- For release-record fields and GRAMA request steps at state and local levels, start on the Utah released-inmates home page.
- For current UDC custody or supervision, use the official UDC offender search or the AP&P regional-office directory.
- For a hearing, parole grant, termination, or linked order, search the Utah Board hearings and decisions.
- For a particular adult jail, prison, or community correctional center, open the Facility Directory.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator.
